Your custom home, built in insulated concrete from footing to roofline.
A new build is the one chance to get everything right from the ground up — and that is exactly where DMT Building Group lives. We build custom homes in insulated concrete form (ICF) from the footings to the roofline, so the structure, insulation, vapour protection and framing go up as one continuous system.
Whether it's a family home in Barrie, a walkout on a sloped lot, or a lakefront build on solid rock, we self-perform our scope: site prep, footings, foundation, walls and floor assemblies, coordinated with our network of trusted local trades and suppliers.
ICF walls deliver an effective R-22 to R-26 with no gaps, studs or cold spots — lower energy bills from day one.
A reinforced concrete core stands up to wind, weather and time in a way conventional framing can't match.
The mass of concrete plus continuous foam means a noticeably quieter, draft-free home year-round.
Less maintenance, no rot, no shifting — a structure designed to outlast its mortgage.
Scope, spelled out. Here's what this service covers on a typical project:
A full ICF structure rising over the water — stepped foundation to gable walls, built storey by storey on a sloped lakefront lot.

Read the project story →With more than 50 years of combined experience, DMT Building Group self-performs its scope: consultation, quote, footings, foundations, ICF walls and waterproofing, under one accountable roof. We're members of the Simcoe County Home Builders' Association, backed by a deep local partner network — and we're the crew other builders call when the site gets hard.
ICF walls typically go up faster than block or poured-and-framed equivalents because structure, insulation and framing happen in one step. Overall schedule depends on design, permits and site conditions — we lay out a realistic timeline in your quote.
Yes. Most conventional plans convert cleanly to ICF. We review your drawings, flag anything that needs an engineer's input, and coordinate the changes before construction starts.
Wall-for-wall, ICF usually carries a modest upfront premium over conventional framing — offset by lower heating and cooling costs, faster wall assembly and less long-term maintenance. Every project is quoted individually, free.
Yes. We build anywhere within about two hours of our Barrie office — Simcoe County, Muskoka, Georgian Bay, Orillia, Huntsville, Bracebridge, Port Carling, Rosseau and down into the Greater Toronto Area.
