Formwork scribed board-by-board onto Canadian Shield granite — the job that shows exactly what makes DMT different.
The building footprint sat on exposed, sloping granite with no soil to excavate to a level base. Conventional footing forms were useless: every metre of formwork met the rock at a different height and angle, and the footing still had to end up level, to spec, and bearing on sound rock at every point.
The crew scribed each form board to the rock's real profile so the footing bears fully on stone with no voids. Rebar dowels were drilled and epoxy-anchored into the granite to pin the footing to the Shield, and the pour was stepped to follow the rock while delivering a level top for the walls above.
A footing locked directly to the strongest bearing surface there is — settlement-proof, engineered, and ready for the stepped ICF foundation that followed. This is the specialty work DMT gets called onto other builders' sites to do.
